I am skilled in watercoloring, with a focus on natural themes that capture the beauty and intricacy of the environment. My work often includes landscapes, flora, and fauna, rendered with a delicate touch and attention to detail. I have also shared my expertise through several workshops, teaching architectural students and others the techniques and nuances of watercolor painting. These workshops have allowed me to inspire and guide others in exploring their creativity and honing their artistic skills.
In addition to my design work, I am deeply passionate about storytelling, focusing primarily on adult audiences through both writing and illustration. My tales delve into a variety of themes that are deeply personal and universally relevant, exploring subjects such as grieving, the concept of home, and the complexities of growing up. Through these narratives, I aim to evoke emotions and provoke introspection, encouraging readers to contemplate their own experiences and perspectives.
To visually bring my stories to life, I employ a diverse range of techniques and mediums. Utilizing ink on paper, watercolor, crayons, and markers allows me to experiment with textures and styles, ensuring each story possesses a unique and captivating visual identity. This artistic versatility enhances the narrative depth, drawing readers into immersive storytelling experiences that resonate on a profound level with adult audiences. By seamlessly blending compelling storytelling with evocative illustrations, I aim to create impactful narratives that leave a lasting impression.
Oils and pastels
In my oil paintings, I focus on capturing the depth and richness of the subjects, bringing them to life with meticulous detail and vibrant hues. The medium is ever so versatile and I try to follow its elusive path.
My oil pastel works, on the other hand, allow for a more spontaneous and textured approach, giving each piece a unique and dynamic quality. I use contemporary methods as well as traditional.
I choose to work with more figurative themes and natural subjects. Although, I admit that with nature, I tend to let my fantasy world intervene. There is always a magical aspect when I am painting animals.
Ink on paper
I am adept at working with ink, often sketching directly from live environments without the preliminary use of pencil. This approach allows me to capture the spontaneity and essence of the scene with immediacy and authenticity. I also utilize watered-down ink to add depth and fill to my sketches, creating a dynamic interplay of light and shadow. This technique enhances the overall texture and richness of my work, bringing a unique vibrancy to each piece. I frequently employ mixed techniques, including ink, to achieve a variety of effects. My style ranges from precise perspective drawings to more relaxed, fluid renderings, tailored to the theme and mood of each project.
